**About the role**:We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Leader - Cyber Security Operations to help drive the protection of our critical digital and operational assets. This leadership role sits at the heart of our security operations, blending people leadership, technical oversight, and strategic input to secure both corporate systems and unique operational technologies within the rail environment.

You’ll bring deep expertise in incident response, risk management, and cyber tooling—and know how to coach, influence, and lead a high-performing team.
- Oversee day-to-day Cyber Defence and Security Engineering functions to ensure timely threat detection and response
- Drive security uplift through new tools, systems, and procedures
- Develop and maintain the internal SOP library and documentation for knowledge sharing
- Oversee and participate in the maintenance of the Cyber Defence and Security Engineering tools and platforms
- Deliver reporting and analysis against established cyber security KPIs and performance metrics.
- Support and grow a small team of professionals—providing coaching, technical guidance, and development opportunities.

**About you**:

- Proven experience managing and motivating cyber security or IT operations teams.
- Strong background in cyber security, operational planning, and incident response.
- Deep understanding of cyber tools, incident response procedures, and operational protocols.
- Hands-on experience responding to incidents in complex, large-scale enterprise environments.
- Proficient in tools such as Splunk, Crowdstrike, Palo Alto, Defender, Sentinel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
