**About the role**:
You will lead a team of engineers and specialists, drive continuous improvement within the team and engage with other relevant technical groups to facilitate the collection of data and provision of information to support related capabilities. You will maintain current knowledge of the global threat environment, identifying potential emerging risks and proactively assessing risk and response strategies.

Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security, this role leads a team of 3 with potential to grow the team in the new year.

**Primary Responsibilities** will include, but are not limited to:

- **Leadership -** Guide the development of core capabilities within the Cyber Security Operations Team. Ensure the development of people, process and tooling required for the Security Operations function.
- **Incident Response -** Own day-to-day operations of the security team, monitoring information sources for security anomalies and performing triage, incident investigations, and response.
- **Security Operations -** Enhance capabilities for the core activities of Vulnerability Management, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Incident Response. Drive continuous improvement within the team and engage with other relevant technical groups to facilitate the collection of data and provision of information to support related capabilities.

**About you**:
We are seeking a self-motivated individual who is able to effectively prioritise their workload. You will have the ability to independently solve problems and help your team members when necessary. Having the capability to take ownership of issues with a view to continuously improve is crucial in this role.

You will have:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a technology related discipline and at least 3 years’ operational cyber security experience.
- Relevant security industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, GCIGH etc.
- Extensive experience in a security operations environment, including incident response.
- Demonstrated ability in providing leadership, direction, and coordination to a team of professionals.
- Working knowledge of configuration management, change control/problem management and leading risk assessments.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 Security Capabilities.
- Previous experience working within the Healthcare or Critical Infrastructure sector and related knowledge of opportunities and constraints, desired but not essential
