Sydney, Australia DLA Piper Full time

At DLA Piper, we leverage technology to enhance our client services.

We're seeking a Legal Technology Manager to join our team, bridging the gap between technology, process, and legal practice.

Our Legal Technology team, part of the Law& group, optimizes legal processes with tools like collaboration platforms, document management, and expert systems. You'll collaborate with lawyers, the Legal Delivery Centre, and other teams to integrate tech solutions, improving service quality and efficiency.

This role suits a tech-savvy individual who can identify and develop tech-based improvements, articulate their value, and manage their integration. Based in Australia, you'll focus on both international projects and local tech adoption in Australia and the AsiaPac region.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Manage and support the deployment of legal tech tools (e.g., Kira, BRYTER, HighQ, Contract Express, Legatics, DocuSign) across practice groups and international locations
- Stay updated on tool capabilities and explore innovative implementations. Build relationships with suppliers
- Raise awareness of legal tech solutions, educate colleagues, and create training programs and materials
- Collaborate with lawyers and other teams to design and manage tech solutions for client-specific work
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams to develop new client-facing services and products
- Coordinate with other tech teams (e.g., e-discovery, AI) to integrate multiple tools
- Keep up with legal tech market trends, evaluate new tools, and lead pilot projects
- Contribute to the firm's legal tech strategy and support senior managers
- Monitor tool usage, report on adoption and value, and assist with financial management
- Ensure tech tools meet governance and compliance requirements
- Support marketing efforts and participate in pitches to showcase tech solutions

About you
- Enjoys using technology to solve problems collaboratively and creatively with diverse stakeholders
- Practical experience with legal tech tools (e.g., Kira, BRYTER, HighQ, Legatics, DocuSign) for collaboration, document management, and expert systems
- Interest in legal industry transformation and change; prior legal sector experience is advantageous
- Keen on using design thinking techniques to meet client needs
- Strong communication skills, adaptable to different audiences, and willing to seek clarity or challenge when needed
- Inquisitive, solution-focused, and detail-oriented
- Able to prioritize and manage a varied workload effectively and flexibly
