Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for a
Legal Counsel
to join one of the fastest-growing legal firms in the APAC region, in partnership with Elevate.

Based in Sydney (with flexibility for a hybrid working model), this part-time contract role offers an ideal balance of challenge and flexibility. The position requires a commitment of 3 days per week for an initial 3-month term, with strong potential for extension.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lawyer to contribute to high-impact legal work within a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex multi-jurisdictional commercial contracts.
  • Advise on intellectual property, technology, and data protection issues.
  • Provide legal input on emerging areas, including AI, digital identity, and new regulatory landscapes.
  • Support risk management and compliance activities across global operations.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders as a trusted advisor offering practical, business-oriented solutions.

About You:

  • 3-6 years PQE gained in-house or within a top-tier firm.
  • Strong experience managing complex, cross-border commercial contracts.
  • Solid grounding in IP and technology law.
  • Commercially astute with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Experience:

  • Familiarity with AI and digital identity legal frameworks.
  • Background in professional services or consulting.
  • Exposure to privacy, data protection, and cross-border compliance issues.
