The Project - Sydney Metro City South West (SMCSW)
The SMCSW is a new 30-kilometre metro line extending the tracks from the southern end of Sydney Metro North West at Chatswood, under Sydney Harbour through new CBD Stations and upgraded stations along the South West corridor to Bankstown.
MTR have been awarded the Operations, Trains & Systems package in Dec 2019 and commenced delivery of key rail systems & trains and now seeking for engineers to be part of this project.
The role
The Purpose of the role is to lead the safety governance, training, and competency team of professionals to produce HSEQ management system plans, documents, training, and competency management through effective consultation with key stakeholders within MTR and Rail Transport Operators and Principal Contractors.
The HSEQ governance system is to be aligned with Momentum, RIW system and ELMO HR system to ensure that the workforce is competent to perform their rail safety critical tasks and follow the safety management system, record the outcomes of hazard reports, workplace inspections, safety conversations and events, including their own fit to work compliance.
**Description**:
**Manage Project Safety**: develop, implement, and maintain the Safety Management System including the Safety Plan, relevant procedures, and tools, ensuring compliance with contractual safety requirements.
Provide leadership and prioritise the SMS development and RIW integration project.
Manage and coordinate the SMS Governance committee weekly, prepare and communicate agenda and minutes.
Ensure that SME are ready to present their process, procedure and tools at each weekly governance committee
Communicate approved SMS documents to HR Business partner for onward communication and training via ELMO system and record kept of training provided.
Manage relationships with stakeholders to ensure that the SMS documents and RIW Competency management, Inductions are reviewed, input received and updated consistent with SMS document and PC Standard, Sydney Metro requirements.
Providing document development training as required, including contractors.
Ensure alignment of the HSEQ documents and the support systems, Momentum, ELMO and RIW
Any changes which may impact cost or business approvals, needs to be communicated to the Head of HSEQ for approval in advance of work being performed.

Tertiary qualifications in HSEQ
Meet TfNSW Competency Management requirements for the role
Experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in HSEQ system development and competency management
Leadership and stakeholder management
**Skills**:
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Excellent verbal and written communication
Interested in safety management
Organised and able to meet deadlines.
The ability to work quickly, effectively, and positively in a demanding environment.
Well-developed organisational skills and able to pay attention to detail.
The ability to work to deadlines and targets and the ability to prioritize tasks under pressure.
Able to work flexible hours if required
