Lifestyle Support Worker

Our daughter is a 23 year old gentle young lady who enjoys the company of others especially her family and has a love of music, movies and social outings. Born with Cerebral Palsy and intellectual disability she requires full physical, cognitive and emotional support to organise, attend and participate in all home care and community activities. Is nonverbal and her way of communicating is through vocalisation and expressiveness. Fascinated by watching children play and laugh, she is also known for her affectionate nature, her huge smile and her ability to bring out the joy, kindness and smile in others.

Currently living at home with our family she has been transitioning towards more independence. She currently has a small team to assist in supporting her in the community and within the home to assist with personal care and her physio programmes. Some of the weekly activities she enjoys are her meet ups with friends at the local RSL Club to listen to live music and enjoys long nature/bayside walks where she loves to people watch and have picnic lunches.

We now have an opening for an additional female team member to enrich and contribute to her life in meaningful ways.

The Role

As a member of our daughters team you may work a range of shifts from alternate Saturday and Sundays, sleepovers as well as one or two weekday shifts to assist with morning and afternoon personal care routines, meal preparation, attending therapy sessions and facilitating stimulating and meaningful community activities.

Shifts

Alternate weekend shifts which may include sleepovers. Weekday shifts 8am - 4pm.

Other Requirements
- Non Smoker
- Currently living in our local area (up to 30 minutes drive)
- ABN or willing to obtain
- Own vehicle and open driver’s license
- Cert III Individual Support (Disability)
- Criminal History Screen or Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- First Aid & CPR
- Relevant Insurances

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability
