**The Role**
The Industry Engagement and Quality Division is looking for an enthusiastic leader with exceptional program management experience, maintaining robust financial and performance systems and providing strategic advice on grants administration and procurement.
The Director of the Program Management Office is responsible for working directly with branch heads and supporting the role of the senior responsible officer (Band 2) to ensure the effective, efficient, and ethical management of the Australian Government’s Jobs and Skills Council (JSC) Program. Under the JSC Program, the government has provided over $440M over four years to establish and support a network of 10 JSCs, who are in turn funded under a grant arrangement.
This opportunity would suit someone with significant experience in program management, with strong attention to detail and excellent skills in working across silos to achieve high quality outcomes.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Director may include:
- Implementing and maintaining robust and reliable financial and performance tracking systems.
- Supporting SES with the overall financial management of administered funding provided under JSC Program.
- Providing strategic advice on ad hoc program/grants management issues.
- Overall risk management of the JSC Program, including maintaining risk registers/plans and undertaking risk management workshops.
- Working effectively across different sections and branches to ensure a consistent and high-quality approach to the management of grant funding.
