The Skills Reform Taskforce and Apprenticeships and Foundation Skills Divisions are recruiting to fill vacancies across several teams. There are a range of exciting opportunities to influence the future of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) and apprenticeships sector, which continues to be a key pillar of Australia’s economic recovery.

Analysts will provide data insights, cost estimates, evidence and advice to key decision makers including the Minister, Senior Executive and a range of external stakeholders. Some roles require working closely with central agencies and state and territory governments to achieve the required objective.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director may include:

- Lead work to develop costs, model alternative policy options and produce updated budget estimates for policy proposals.
- Monitor and analyse government and private investment in the VET and apprenticeships sector.
- Lead work to develop regular reports for publication, self-service reporting tools and bespoke data products.
- Produce briefs, minutes, reports and other documents to a high standard through understanding data, policy, programs, legislative requirements and system design.
- Build and sustain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and represent DEWR in forums as delegated.
- Actively participate in a collaborative team environment based on supportiveness, knowledge sharing and effective communication. This includes managing and developing capability among APS-level staff.
