**Your new role**

AustralianSuper currently has over 2.4 million active members and we use and disclose large volumes of personal information every day. This newly created position will report to the Senior Privacy Officer within the wider Group Risk function and will help to further develop a privacy aware culture across the organisation. The role of the Privacy Manager is to work with the Senior Privacy Officer on a wide range of matters.
- Providing privacy guidance to the organisation in relation to:

- new projects and initiatives that may have a potential privacy impact,
- the disclosure of personal information to third parties,
- marketing campaigns and surveys.
- Handling internal and external privacy enquiries, including access requests from members and requests from law enforcement.
- Reviewing and resolving privacy complaints, including providing verbal and written correspondence directly with members.
- Assessing and responding to privacy breaches and managing eligible data breaches in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breach Scheme.
- Liaising with the OAIC, ACMA and privacy regulators in overseas jurisdictions, as required.
- Interacting closely with internal stakeholders, including information security, risk and compliance, data governance, marketing and legal teams.
- Reviewing and amending the organisation’s Privacy Policy, privacy collection notices, data breach response process, privacy impact assessment process and related documents, as required.
- Undertaking Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and promoting privacy by design across the organisation.
- Developing and providing privacy training to staff to enhance privacy awareness and decision making in relation to privacy, including educating teams on changes to relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintaining a current knowledge of all applicable privacy laws and guidelines in Australia and overseas jurisdictions in which AustralianSuper operates, as well as keeping abreast of legislative proposals that may be applicable to the organisation in the future, such as the Online Privacy Code, Privacy Act 1988 Review and Consumer Data Right legislation.

**What you’ll need**
- Tertiary qualification - law, business, information management
- 2+ years experience in a privacy focused role.
- Sound understanding of the Privacy Act 1988 and Spam Act 2003.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and manage a range of matters.
- Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to empathise and communicate with colleagues and members.
- Superior written communication skills including the ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively.
- Ability to engage and influence at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and investigative skills.
- Experience in building sound risk awareness amongst colleagues by providing ongoing support and training.
- Demonstrated ability to respectfully challenge, deal with conflict and stand their ground, where required.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills that reflects a professional, collegiate and engaging approach.
