Are you passionate about empowering young people and building stronger, more resilient communities? We’re seeking a Community Resilience Officer to engage and consult with school-aged young people in Longwarry to co-design initiatives that support their recovery from recent floods. The role also involves coordinating with health organisations, employment and training providers, and community service providers to connect residents with services that improve health and employment outcomes.

**About the Role**
In this role you will work on the Flood Resilience Community Engagement Program across the communities of Longwarry, Yarragon and Trafalgar which were all impacted in the October 2022 flood event. You will facilitate mental health recovery programs and support for communities impacted by the 2022 flood and experiencing compounding mental health impacts.
The role also involves implementing and evaluating of initiatives and events designed to reduce the impact of flooding. These strategic actions will support and encourage individual and community recovery, self-reliance and empowerment and where possible, contribute to the long-term sustainability and social infrastructure of these communities.
You will bring experience working with young people, leading community engagement, and developing initiatives from concept through to completion. Organised and outcome-focused, you’ll have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deliver results within set timeframes.
