**About the Role**

The Advocacy Officer will develop communication plans and create collateral and content for a range of communication channels in relation to promoting Baw Baw’s advocacy priorities. This role will also provide support for advocacy activities, including research, messaging and stakeholder engagement.

You will join a supportive team who are passionate about delivering positive outcomes for the community. You will be responsible for delivering and developing communication strategies to progress Council’s advocacy priorities.

We are looking for someone who can use their creativity to deliver clear and concise communications to foster relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to garner support for Council’s advocacy priorities.

You will have:

- Understanding of local, state and federal government legislation, structure and processes
- Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders
- Proven strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Relevant qualifications or experience in government relations, politics, communications or business administration
