My client is a well-known brand in the Australian Life Insurance market. Their growth and recruitment plans have created an opportunity for a highly experienced Underwriter to join their Life Insurance team based out of the Sydney CBD, Melbourne or Brisbane office with hybrid flexibility.

As an Underwriter in the Life Insurance division, you will be responsible for the assessment of new business, additions and alterations for all risk products, making underwriting decisions according to company guidelines, ensuring underwriting decisions are made in accordance to underwriting standards, mentoring underwriters and tele interview consultants and to ensure a profitable portfolio is maintained.

**About you**:

- 8 + years life underwriting experience in either group or retail;
- Diploma of Financial Planning, Diploma of Life Insurance, ALUCA qualifications, Chartered Insurance Institute / Academy of Life Underwriting qualifications
- Ability to self-manage
- Strong ability to manage conflict and stressors, empathy minded
- Strong analytical skills
- Practically minded
- Excellent communication and warm interpersonal skills
