In this role, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 30 members, rostering staff, and managing absenteeism replacements, and continuously improving the business through a structured approach. You will also be required to pre-alert dangerous goods and weights, monitor outbound deadlines and cut-off times, and organise recovery of missed connection freight.

Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the security screening of all domestic freight travelling by air- Managing daily distribution activities to ensure that people and equipment levels meet service requirements and are employed efficiently- Responsible for a structured approach to continuously improve the business- Ensuring health and safety are paramount and responsibilities are effectively communicated throughout the team- Leading and developing the positions of direct reports to ensure effective service delivery and succession planning- Reviewing labour requirements and adjusting to suit service and overall business requirements- Managing competing priorities and adjusting to changing conditions- Monitoring fatigue management and load restraint.

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A proven track record in a leadership capacity within transportation and logistics- High level of autonomy and initiative- Sound computer skills including excel reporting- Well-developed interpersonal and written and oral communication skills- Ability to work with overlapping shifts, and staff members therein- Flexibility in daily tasks, including cross-training in other supervisory responsibilities- A comprehensive understanding of HSE and legislative requirements within transportation

Working hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 16:00 - 00:00.
