Within the Rail & Technology Systems sector, UGL is a leading provider of integrated systems for rail infrastructure projects. We are uniquely positioned and resourced to support our clients in their goals of providing exceptional transport solutions. Our services include infrastructure building and asset management, rail systems, signalling and communications, tunnel, and intelligent transport systems.
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our multi sector business unit in Western Australia, covering a significantly diverse array of clients with large pipeline opportunities.
The Construction Manager is responsible for the delivery of all activities on site to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
**Key responsibilities and accountabilities will include**:
- Direct and control construction activities on Projects to ensure that standards of quality, cost, safety and performance are observed and that time schedules are met.
- Interface with other engineering functions.
- Ensure sufficient resources (plant and people) are provided on a project so that it can be delivered safely.
- Monitor physical and financial progress of work.
- Ensure harmonious employee relations and participate in union negotiations with advice from the Human Resources Advisor as appropriate.
- Liaise directly with client to maintain high level customer service relationships.
**To be considered for this role you will be required to demonstrate**:
- Appropriate trade qualifications and/or Engineering Degree in a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing Construction activities on Project sites.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
