**Job details**:
Reporting to the Senior Manger, Risk and Governance the internal auditor is responsible for independent review of the control environment across RightShip.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Review key processes and evaluate the risk and control environment using RightShip methodology.
- Ascertain the extent of compliance with established policies, procedures, and legislated practices
- Raise issues and results of audits and communicate these with Line and Senior Managers through verbal discussions and written reports (either memo style or more complex that clearly articulate key issues, themes, root causes etc.)
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations into grievances providing written reports into alleged violations of company policies, values and procedures, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other types of misconduct. This could include interviewing relevant parties, evaluating evidence, drawing conclusions and recommending remedial action where necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately during the investigation process.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry trends related to investigations, or seek external legal advice when needed.
- Continuously evaluate and improve investigation processes and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Assess action plans proposed by Management and provide ‘Value add' solutions where required.
- Execute the delivery of completed audit assignments within the budgeted timeframes agreed.
- Proactively maintain and foster effective professional relationships with key stakeholders across RightShip

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Successful completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification in a business field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of internal auditing experience (external audit experience from a Big 4 environment will also be considered).
- Relevant experience in HR, investigations, or a related field, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to investigations.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documenting and analyzing information.
- Intellectual curiosity and professional skepticism to enable understanding of organization and operational processes.
- Tech-savvy and appreciation of IT risks in particular CIS 18 and ISO 27001 will be preferred.
- Well-developed interpersonal and effective communication skills including a high standard of business report writing
- Demonstrated ability to interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and levels within the organization
- Ability to work autonomously.
