**Role Highlights**
- Lead and manage all scenic and staging operations for The Australian Ballet's national and international productions.
- Ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all staging elements, from pre-production through to post-season.
- Collaborate closely with designers, technical staff, and venue teams to deliver the artistic vision across diverse performance environments.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Overseeing the staging department's operations, including the supervision of mechanists and stage crew.
- Coordinating the installation, operation, and maintenance of scenic elements and stage automation systems.
- Collaborating with designers and technical teams during pre-production to ensure technical feasibility and the accurate realisation of designs.
- Managing the logistics for the transportation, storage, and maintenance of scenic assets for both domestic and international touring.
- Leading rehearsals and performances, troubleshooting issues and ensuring safe and efficient staging operations.
- Conducting post-production assessments and advising on refurbishment needs for scenic elements.

**What experience you'll need**:

- Extensive experience in scenic construction, stage automation, and live production staging at a senior or supervisory level.
- Strong leadership and crew management skills with the ability to coordinate large teams under pressure.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g. Vectorworks or AutoCAD) and ability to produce and interpret technical plans.
- In-depth understanding of staging logistics, venue operations, and touring requirements, including international freight and customs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety, risk assessment, and compliance in theatrical environments.
- Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills with a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
