St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is seeking 2 x Permanent Part Time Learning Support Assistants (1 x 20hrs a week and 1 x 15hrs a week) to join the team in April.

St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is located in the Hunter Region, a short 30-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and Port Stephens. A school of 386 students catering for K-6, St Brigid’s provides a place where the creative and individual talents of each student and teacher is greatly appreciated, embraced and encouraged. Our school has a strong focus on promoting physical activity and healthy living through all aspects of school life

Learning Support Assistants (LSA) in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of supporting teachers in ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live a purposeful life.
- Supported by the Catholic community, of which they are a vital part, LSAs support teachers in inviting students and their families into a faith-filled educational experience
- LSAs support the promotion of the school as a place of learning and excellence where creativity and curiosity are nurtured and students are connected with their world through deep learning and engagement
- Under the direction of teachers, LSAs provide support and assistance in school routines; classroom activities; and the care and support of students with disability.

**Desired Skills and Experience**:
**EXPERIENCE/CRITERIA**
- Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and a personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
- Experience working with students with disability (K-12)
- Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of a teacher, and in collaboration with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to effectively administer assessments, and deliver interventions, under the direction of a teacher
- Demonstrated ability to implement adjustments required for individual students and groups of students
- Experience in supporting student enrolment and transitions, under the direction of a teacher
- Knowledge about the relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data
- Evidence of excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
- Completion of anaphylaxis training
- Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support / or experience in schools (Desirable)

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
