**The Division**

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have 1 x ongoing full-time Security Control Room Operator vacancies in our Infrastructure Protection and Resilience Security Operations Unit. These positions are based in Milsons Point, Sydney.

The Security Control Room Operator is responsible for proactively monitoring alarm, access control and CCTV systems to provide security outcomes focused on deterrence, detection and disruption of unauthorised access. The Security Control Room Officer coordinates the daily activities of the contracted security officers deployed to designated sites and supports special events as required.

**What you will be involved in**
- Identifying, assessing and coordinating initial response to items, people, vehicles and activity deemed as posing a threat to the continued safe operation of the TfNSW assets to effectively responding to and managing risks.
- Providing a central point of coordination with emergency services during any incident to provide expert support and advice and the resolution of issues.
- Coordinating security guard locations and activities for designated assets and conducting security systems status checks, fault investigation and reporting.
- Receiving, assessing, and responding to phone calls to the security contact number from members of the public and emergency services.
- Facilitating remote site access for authorised visitors, contractors, Bridge Climb and Emergency Services to bridges and tunnels with access control systems.
- Maintaining visitor management system for SHB and the RMS Security Log and composing and communicating incident reports.
- Responding to requests for Information as required, including security statistics, incident trends, and CCTV footage requests from security and intelligence agencies.

**About you**
- You must hold a current NSW Security Licence including Class 1AC.
- Be willing to work a 24/7 rotating roster.
- You must have sound knowledge of NSW Security Industry Legislation and Regulations.
- You have extensive experience working in a Security Control Room with a demonstrated working knowledge of electronic security systems (including alarms, access control and CCTV) and risk management and security concepts and ability to assess and respond to a security or emergency incident.
- You have demonstrated ability to coordinate Security Officer’s static, patrol and incident response activities as they relate to the protection of critical infrastructure assets.
- You’re proactive and use your initiative and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment.
- You have the ability to work collaboratively and use your excellent communication and interpersonal skills to proactively build strong relationships with an array of internal and external stakeholders.
- Successful applicants will be required to work a rotational shift roster that will include night shifts, weekends and public holidays. Additional shifts may be required to support team members leave and training commitments.

The salary for this position is USS Grade 5 ($83,263 to $87,502) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
