**Your role**:
As a Technical Lead within our Managed Services team, you will serve as the dedicated technical authority for an enterprise client's cloud-centric Infrastructure, with a primary focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions leveraging cloud platforms. This is a Sydney based role with excellent hybrid working arrangements.
This role requires a deep expertise in cloud technologies, with onsite presence as needed, and encompasses the management of compute, storage, backup, and virtualization within a predominantly cloud-driven framework.
**Your key responsibilities**:
- Monitoring and optimizing IT systems for performance, security, and scalability, focusing on a managed environment encompassing Azure Compute and Storage, cloud-native backup solutions, VMWare in hybrid setups, and scalable cloud architectures.
- Managing problem management processes and working day-to-day on investigations and resolution of escalated security and other IT issues across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Maintaining and administering systems, which includes Desktops (Windows OS), Microsoft Office suite, Office 365, and Windows server support. Includes end-user support and liaising with a diverse vendor ecosystem and internal IT teams.
- Maintaining effective communications with your clients and leading the team technically as the key customer contact.
- Leading coordination with internal teams and vendors for seamless service delivery, including close working relationships with customer IT leads at mine sites, head office, and vendors.
- Developing new strategies to increase efficiency in the systems and performing system analysis and recommending improvements with a focus on cloud optimization and hybrid interoperability.
**Key skills required to be successful in the role**:
- Minimum of 10 years of IT experience with advanced infrastructure and systems management skills.
- Expertise in Azure Compute and Storage services for designing and managing cloud-based deployments.
- Advanced skills in VMware environments within hybrid cloud contexts, with additional experience in Commvault or similar technologies.
- Proficiency in Wintel environments, with advanced skills in Active Directory and Office 365 management.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, with advanced skills in Azure (essential) and familiarity with AWS (desirable) or GCP (desirable).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform break fix analysis and root cause analysis effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to administer Microsoft SQL servers and Windows RDS servers.
- Experience acting as the final escalation point for complex/high impact issues and liaising with 3rd party vendors.
- Industry certifications and select areas of IT specialization, including advanced cloud certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (desirable).
