**About the role**:
This role is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HSE management systems (HSEMS) for the CitiPower, Powercor, United Energy and Beon businesses including HSE compliance and reporting processes that drive improvement in HSE performance. It is also responsible for establishing and managing HSE risk management processes, including verification of the effectiveness of key HSE critical controls.
The role will provide HSE data analysis, insights, and recommendations related to the adequacy and effectiveness of the HSEMS and overall HSE business performance. The key impact of this role is focused on providing management and employees with information that supports decision making and provides effective execution of their responsibilities for compliance with the HSEMS and improve the overall management of risk across the businesses.
This role can be based in Melbourne, Mount Waverley, or Geelong.
**What you’ll deliver**:
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE systems, processes and documentation including policies, procedures, training, tools and templates.
- Maintain currency of HSE systems and processes in line with changes in legislation, international and industry standards and business requirements.
- Manage the HSE risk framework and procedures so that the processes support the businesses and are understandable, fit-for-purpose and outcome orientated.
- Oversee the development and implementation of the HSEMS assurance & compliance program by planning, leading, and managing the HSE verification processes, (such as inspections and audits), and overseeing the HSE evaluation of compliance processes.
- Be the custodian of all HSE related data and reporting by overseeing the establishment of the HSE monitoring and measurement program with the HSE metrics, analytics, and reports to inform the organisation about HSE performance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders so that systems and initiatives reflect specific current and future business requirements.
- Drive a customer service orientation for the HSE function and deliver high levels of customer/client satisfaction from internal and external customers and stakeholders.
**To succeed in the role you’ll have**:
- Advanced experience in HSE management systems and data analysis
- Excellent report writing skills including reports and papers for executives and Boards
- Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (Safety, Engineering, Science, Information Systems, Environment)
- Systems auditing qualification, such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or ISO 9001
- Familiar with HSE IT reporting systems such as Cintellate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in heavy or high-risk industry such as construction, mining, manufacturing transport, or utilities (preferable).
- Previous experience as a people manager for HSE professionals (preferable)
