We have an opportunity for an experienced and proactive Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to join our team at G4S Corporate office. Reporting to our General Manager - Safety (Rowena), will play a critical role in partnering, promoting and facilitating best practice HSE Management and assist G4S and our contracts in achieving a healthy, safe and sustainable workplace.
Duties of the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor will include:
- Facilitate the development of HSE strategies to G4S contracts.
- Provide oversight of strategic HSE issues including the development of innovative solutions.
- Develop or support implementation of programs and initiatives that enhance and mature safety culture, cultivating behavioural change and strengthening safety leadership at all levels.
- Work with operational managers to foster safety cultures within their areas of responsibility
- Provide advice and support to stakeholders to ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and corporate governance.
- Lead and/or support investigations, root causes analysis, and continuous improvement following HSE related incidents or hazards.
- Conduct and/or facilitate audits and inspections in accordance with the assurance program to ensure the HSE systems and requirements at the prison are implemented, effective, and in accordance with legislative, regulatory and corporate governance requirements.
To be considered for this role you must demonstrate the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in workplace health and safety.
- Highly developed multi-faceted communications skills, including the ability to effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience developing and implementing HSE procedures.
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor in safety management systems would be highly advantageous, as would ICAM or equivalent Incident Management Training Qualification.
