The role of the Manager, Publishing is to lead and manage the publishing team and processes to support production of QCAA publications.

**For this role, we will consider how well you**:

- Provide leadership to team members in the delivery of effective, creative and professional editing and design services.
- Provide expert advice to the Director, Strategic Engagement Branch and other senior managers in relation to current or emerging issues affecting, or likely to affect the provision of publishing services within the QCAA.
- Prepare and implement operational plans and quality assurance processes to deliver publishing services that support the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Maintain an awareness of the organisation's needs and manage the provision of services that are flexible and represent best practice in publishing.
- Promote innovation and improved work practices in publishing and in the interfaces with other units and clients.
- Lead and contribute to the development and implementation of publishing policies and procedures, style guides and templates.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of corporate branding guidelines.
- Manage a team of editors and graphic designers, capitalising on their and your own specialist publishing expertise and knowledge.
- Establish clear timeframes for the delivery of services and communicate these to clients.
- Respond positively and flexibly to changing priorities.
- Negotiate timelines, workloads and priorities to address client needs.
- Monitor the provision of publishing and design services and reassign resources as required.
- Anticipate client expectations and concerns, and proactively provide advice and professional development on QCAA publishing styles and processes.
- Manage the outsourcing of publishing services to external contractors, including monitoring quality.
- Proactively develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between clients and the team.
- Manage performance within the unit and contribute to the performance development culture.
