Role purpose
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing the department's social media content calendar and community managing responses that our updates and activity generate.
The role will proactively monitor social channels and conversations, moderate channels, and actively engage with the department's social community. They will escalate emerging issues of concern and suggest strategies to resolve these issues.
They will report on social media activity and performance.
They will stay up to date with the latest social tools, trends and test new social media platforms.
They work closely with the social media content producers, providing support for social media channel planning, and ensuring feedback on social media performance.
As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios to ensure effective media and communications services can be delivered by the Branch during emergency, crisis and peak periods.
Technical expertise
- Demonstrated understanding of the public service, health sector and the operation of government.
- Proven experience in working within social media functions for high profile public organisations, including community management/moderation
- Strong understanding of social media channels and social media best practice
- Proficient using multi-social posting and moderation programs
- Proficient producing and presenting social media reports
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
