The Strategic Communications Branch, within the Department of Health, delivers the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health, and supports communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.
The successful person
**The successful person will**:
- have experience delivering significant or complex communication, media or engagement projects within agreed budgets and timeframes, ensuring all output is aligned to strategic priorities.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work in partnership and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- have strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan and manage the delivery of numerous competing priorities.
- have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in a communication and/or project management context.
- be able to collaborate and contribute to the positive culture of a team with a track record of maintaining a customer service mentality and supporting all colleagues to succeed.
About us
The Department of Health (the department) has a diverse set of responsibilities, and a common purpose of providing highly effective health system leadership. The department is responsible for the overall strategic leadership and direction of the public health system in Queensland. The Strategic Communications Branch (SCB) is within the Strategy Policy and Reform Division (SPRD) within the Department. The branch delivers on the strategic communications priorities of Queensland Health. SCB provides strategic communications advice and manages all communications outputs for the Department of Health and acts as system leader in supporting communication activities delivered by Hospital and Health Services.
**SCB oversees**:
- communications strategy development, delivery and evaluation
- statewide behaviour change marketing campaigns
- consumer research and insights
- media and issues management
- corporate and clinical communications
- internal communications
- partnerships and sponsorships
- strategic stakeholder engagement
- digital and social media content production and management
- creative, design and audio-visual production services
- online and web services
- events management.
