Located on Gadigal and Bidjigal land (Randwick NSW), Black Dog Institute is the only Medical Research Institute in Australia to investigate mental health across the lifespan, our aim is to create a mentally healthier world for everyone. The Role
The purpose of the Digital Engagement Specialist is to provide advanced digital expertise to the Funding and Partnerships team, playing a crucial
role in strategising, designing and delivering appeals, campaigns, virtual events, online lead generation, designing eDM's and SMS journeys, creation of assets and other digital initiatives designed to assist the Fundraising team maximise fundraising revenue.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the assignment of prioritisation of digital resourcing to support campaigns in a timely manner.
- Support the delivery of online fundraising appeals, virtual events, SMS and lead generation campaigns from planning through to execution
- Create engaging digital content, including eDMs, SMS, newsletters, design and creation of webpages, articles, social media posts, and simple graphics to support fundraising objectives
- Provide supporter care and public information for fundraising and donor enquiries
Skills & Experience Required
- Tertiary qualifications in digital marketing/communications or comparable professional experience
- 2-3 years experience in digital marketing, fundraising, or customer service management role
- Experience generating revenue and managing budgets to optimize return on investment in marketing or customer retention campaigns
- Strong understanding of how impactful brand and messaging can drive effective campaigns on digital channels
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with the Raiser’s Edge/NXT donor database and affiliate technologies including third-party fundraising platforms such as Funraisin, Raisely, Run Gopher and other similar tools
- 2-3 years experience in digital marketing, fundraising, or customer service management role
- Experience generating revenue and managing budgets to optimize return on investment in marketing or customer retention campaigns
- Strong understanding of how impactful brand and messaging can drive effective campaigns on digital channels
- Liaise with external agencies to optimise fundraising opportunities through social media acquisition campaigns, SEM and SEO, including always-on fundraising campaigns through Google AdWords grant.
