Position in context

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, the Individual Giving Specialist is a member of the Development & Communications team.

This role is formally based in South Melbourne. We support our staff to work flexibly, both in location and hours, based on the premise that work will remain the focus of any arrangement. How and where you work is discussed with each staff member based on individual circumstances, role requirements and accountability for delivery of high-quality work.

Major job responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of our comprehensive supporter retention and engagement program, including both online and offline automated supporter journeys, to ensure timely and effective communication with all individual donors.
- End-to-end coordination and management of our major annual appeals and supporter retention communications along the ask/thank/report/repeat cycle including upgrade/cross sell activities.
- Prepare detailed internal and agency briefs to develop direct mail appeals, digital campaigns, and supporter communications.
- Liaise with our fundraising agency, Donor Republic, and other campaign-related suppliers including list brokers, telemarketing partners, designers, and mail-houses to ensure agreed budgets, workplans, and KPIs are met.
- Lead the planning and delivery of our supporter journeys and engagement activities for the individual giving program (Cash and Regular Giving) to engage, upgrade, cross-sell, and re-activate supporters and minimise attrition.
- Work with the Fundraising Data Specialist to implement data segmentation strategies and prepare data briefs and analysis.
- Work closely with the Marketing team to gather and develop high quality content and a seamless engagement experience across all channels and contribute to the organisation’s communications and marketing activities.
- Deliver comprehensive post campaign reporting and analysis that incorporates campaign specifics, data insights/learnings and recommendations.
- Consistently research, analyse and evaluate activities to determine opportunities for growth including, retention, conversion, upgrade, and reactivation of donors to grow their lifetime value.
- Utilise data and insights to continuously improve the performance and impact of our fundraising initiatives, maintaining a growth mindset to continue to always improve after each fundraising appeal or campaign.
- Monitor weekly and monthly performance tracking to inform strategy optimisation in the cash and regular giving programs, and track project expenditures.
- Build engaging supporter journeys (offline and digital) to welcome, steward, retain, and engage regular donors, and ensure these journeys are functional and efficiently delivered.
- Manage all data requirements, automation, and optimisation for the individual giving program and work with the Individual Giving Manager to set performance benchmarks and targets for monitoring, analysis, and improvement performance.
- Develop and manage campaign budgets, create project plans, align revenue and expenditure forecasts, and monitor campaign income and expenses.
- Keep up to date on current fundraising strategies, trends, and other marketplace developments, and use insights to continuously improve our individual giving program.
- Contribute positively to the Foundation’s culture of “we are stronger together” through developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.
- Work with People Leader to develop and successfully execute a personal work plan that is aligned with the strategic objectives of the Foundations to meet key deliverables.
- Occasionally work out-of-hours and/or travel interstate for Foundation campaigns and events.Other tasks as directed by the Individual Giving Manager, Director, Development & Communications, CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
