You will be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely and cost effective processing, manufacturing and distribution of reinforcing bar, mesh and associated steel products.

The position plays an active role in improving efficiencies, leading and influencing a team to achieve stated outcomes.

The priorities of the role will include:

- Lead operations in hands on role with focus on maximising performance whilst managing day to day requirements
- Lead by example in promoting a strong HSE and Quality culture and seeking continual improvements whilst ensuring financial objectives, customer satisfaction and contractual KPI’s are met
- Implement and facilitate training and work force planning
- Supervise and develop team leaders, operators and contractors across two shifts (12 - 15 personnel)
- Lead and set the standard around safety to ensure our employees, customers, suppliers and visitors are safe on our site
- Oversee and deliver on daily production plans and targets. Satisfy customer demands of quality and delivery
- Manage R&M and site operational services
- Create an accountable operational culture through establishing and maintaining high standards for safety, quality and operational efficiency
- Manage all assets and inventory related to the distribution and production lines.

**About your experience**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in operational management within a similar industry (Steel, Manufacturing, Construction)
- Ability to hold themselves and others accountable for how and what results are achieved, keeping people informed and provide feedback and support to the team when development is required
- Previous OH&S experience and an exposure to simple lean tools such as 5S
- Strong computer skills and ability to use various systems - experience preferred, not essential in SAP, JDP, Armour or Sparks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
