Position summary

We are currently seeking to appoint a full time permanent Asphalt Mix Design and Performance Technician based out of our recently built cutting edge laboratory in Brendale, Queensland. Reporting into the Laboratory Coordinator you will be responsible for the design and creation of asphalt mix designs and performance testing as well as oversee the daily requirements of a laboratory including sampling, sample preparation, testing, training, research, equipment checks, report preparation and maintenance in line with the laboratory quality system.

ABOUT YOU

Knowledge and experience in one of the following technology areas is desirable; Bituminous Binders, Asphalt Design, Pavement Engineering

Demonstrable and successful experience working in a Civil Engineering Technology Laboratory environment and quality system, preferably a NATA accredited facility

Experience in researching and understanding complex information to develop and implement technical solutions

Experience in asphalt testing highly desirable

A flair for problem-solving and formulating solutions

Strong safety focus - actively participate in and support Downer Zero Harm initiatives and strategies
