Principal Research Advisor

In the role of Principal Research Advisor, you will lead and coordinate the delivery of priority projects that support the reduction of road trauma in Queensland. This role will play a key coordination role between agencies to provide insights to decision makers on the Queensland Road Safety (QRS) Governance Board.
Some of your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: - Liaise, consult, and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating behavioural science concepts and assisting in the development of recommendations relating to policy directions or interventions. Develop road safety statistical reports and present findings to the QRS Governance Board to inform decision making and prioritisation of road safety funding. Represent the division and/or the department on committees and working groups concerned with research, and/or the development and evaluation of road safety policies and interventions. Conduct high level strategic research and evaluations that reflects good practice nationally and internationally, responding to government priorities and contributing to improved outcomes for the community. Build and maintain networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and obtain input from stakeholders in preparation of high-level advice. Monitor developments in other Australian and international jurisdictions around emerging research or technologies that may assist to achieve desired policy outcomes.
