As part of the Workforce Planning team, the Principal Advisor develops and manages workforce planning functions, projects and activities for DCYJMA.

**The Principal Advisor's key responsibilities are**:

- Manage complex and significant workforce projects and activities that contribute to the development of workforce capability and capacity to achieve department objectives. Build professional client relationships so as to maximise client ownership of the workforce agenda and client confidence in the capability of the People and Culture team.
- Provide effective mentoring and support to senior advisor and advisors within the team.
- Provide authoritative advice to senior management and staff on a range of workforce issues relating to workforce planning relevant to their business area.
- Prepare submissions, reports, executive briefs and correspondence about workforce planning matters.
- Represent DCYJMA at relevant forums, meetings and conferences.
- Develop and review workforce policies that support the achievement of the departments' workforce and business objectives.
- Conduct research, and prepare and analyse workforce data to inform workforce planning and policy activities and departmental progress on strategic workforce objectives.
- Coordinate appropriate governance arrangements for workforce planning committees. - Participate as part of a cohesive high performing team in which all members' contributions are valued and encouraged.
- Effectively use human and financial resources to optimise the performance of the team and deliver agreed outcomes
