Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide leadership and development on the council's financial strategy and long-term financial plans to ensure the organisation is sustainable and achieving excellent community outcomes and financial performance.

Our client is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide leadership and development on the council's financial strategy and long-term financial plans to ensure the organisation is sustainable and achieving excellent community outcomes and financial performance.

As the CFO you will have primary responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all administrative, financial and associated risk management activities related to Council. You will be a leader of the organisation's finances and provide financial information to influence informed decision making. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced executive to join a dynamic team and community.

**Responsibilities**

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

- Strategic planning and financial innovation
- Value capture accounting and forecasting
- Job costing and asset management
- Leveraging external funding sources
- Deal analysis and negotiations
- Partnership development and management, and compliance

**Skills and Experience required**
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualified.
- Proven experience in a CFO position or Senior Finance Executive role.
- Well-developed knowledge of the legislative framework applicable to the role.
- Experience in the Authority platform (powered by Civica) is highly regarded.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Financial Reporting by Local Governments (AAS27).
- Significant leadership experience and substantial depth and range of financial management, preferably in a local government environment.
- Demonstrated experience of providing strategic advice and recommendations to executive leadership and Council to set financial direction and implementation.
