**About Hyatt Centric Melbourne**

**The Role**:
As the Steward, you will be responsible for assisting the department in performing cleaning duties for the Kitchen, Food and Beverage and the Hotel as a whole. This directly relates to the cleaning and storage of equipment as directed by the Manager and the standards as well as procedures established by Hyatt Centric Melbourne to ensure maximum guest satisfaction and Hygiene.

You will support Culinary Team supervising and managing the day-to-day operations of the business as well as supporting the team to achieve our purpose.

Please note, the role does **not **involve any food preparations, though on occasion, you may be required to assist the chefs with plate-up.

We are looking for a hospitality professional who is curious minded, energetic, passionate, is connected to the latest and newest this sounds like you we want to hear from you Offerings in Melbourne, and someone who loves researching to find new opportunities.

**Some of the responsibilities include**:

- Prepare tableware for washing, receive and collect tableware to be washed, remove food residue, sort crockery, glassware and silverware
- Ensure chemicals are properly maintained and their usage adheres to the safety standards stated by government authorities
- Safely operate cleaning machinery
- Clean and store operating equipment
- Maintain par stocks of all equipment and supplies
- Polish silverware using appropriate chemical, operating equipment and cloths

**Qualifications**:
**About you**:

- Previous work experience in a similar fast-paced environment
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- Superior customer service skills along with the capability of working both autonomously and as part of a team
- The ability to abide by hygiene and safety measures put in place both from Hyatt Procedures and government standards
- The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
