**Your new company**
This client is a family-owned business who has been around for 50 years. Their focus is the design, manufacture and import of equipment for the power distribution and associated industries. They have an Australian and overseas presence as well as warehousing and distribution centres in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia and Auckland N.Z.

With research and development facilities on site, this provides them with the capability to carry out durability testing as well as assisting with new product development.

**Your new role**
You will be the key resource within the business for all purchasing and procurement related activities. You’ll be counted on to ensure parts availability is maintained ensuring no interruptions with manufacturing occur.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

- Supplier relationship and contract management
- Management of RFx activities and negotiation with suppliers to attain best pricing
- Placement of purchase orders, direct change notices, concession notices where required
- Adhoc souring for alternate suppliers
- Implement and adhere to quality processes and initiatives as part of the business’ overarching quality system

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you'll have prior experience as a purchasing specialist within a technical manufacturing environment, ideally with electronic focus.

Key skills and experience required will include:

- Purchasing of technical components in a manufacturing environment
- Strong systems experience with outstanding Excel skills
- An understanding of purchasing and procurement related process
