With a focus on air emissions and operational compliance for the everyday operations at Bayswater and Liddell Power Stations, this role is designed to ensure there is technical rigour, quality control and collaboration across the environment team at AGL.

Based at Bayswater Power Station, this is a permanent position offering family friendly flexible work arrangements.

What you’ll be doing:
In your new role of Environment Advisor, you will support the Manager, Environment and Operations and engineering teams in the planning, scoping and delivery of projects at the power stations, including providing compliance support to the broader environment team.

In addition, you will:
- Focus on air emissions monitoring and compliance- Assist with the management and implementation of environmental management systems, risk management, compliance and regulatory requirements- Project managing specialist consultants in environmental matters- Implement programs to drive alignment with Environment objectives- Track and communicate changes on Environment legislation and policy- Keep up-to-date with developments in environmental management through internal and external networking

About You

With a thorough understanding of Local, State and Federal planning approvals and pathways and environmental legislation across Australia, you will possess a high level of business acumen and an awareness of the impacting priorities within a large, complex organisation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with people at all levels will contribute to you developing quality relationships with regulatory authorities, Councils, consultants, and contractors.

Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, regulations and environmental management practice, you will have a strategic understanding of project management methodologies and be able to confidently provide advice and support on environmental aspects of projects and operations.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Tertiary qualification in Environment or related discipline- Mid-senior level experience in similar or related businesses- Power station air emissions experience would be an advantage
