**The role**
The primary role of the Proposals Manager is to support the Avance Clinical Business Development department with the business growth objectives of the organisation, including preparation of study budgets, proposals, contracts and change orders. The role will work directly with the Director BD Operations, Head of Business Development, the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Strategy Officer to ensure that there is an integrated business development process from lead generation to project award and contract execution.
**Core Responsibilities include**
- Take responsibility for the development of the appropriate cost proposal utilising the Avance template
- Obtain input from the required internal departments, partners and other external qualified vendors as required for the proposal.
- Identify potential sites, projection of accrual rates
- Identify other vendors including labs and IP vendors
- Reach out to sites for feasibility, initial feedback and feedback into proposals
- Logging of feasibility activities in central database
- Plan, prepare for and lead proposal negotiations if required
- Update and improve proposal templates, including site and patient fees and financial predictions over time
- Manage incoming opportunities that do not require a BDM lead
- Following project award make arrangements for the proposal document to be converted into a contract document.
- For ongoing projects support development of change order budgets and contracts
- As needed, provide input into departmental process improvement including budget and proposal documents as well as lead generation processes.
- Adhere to Avance Clinical’s relevant policies and SOPs.
- Other duties as directed by Line Management or delegate

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Ordinary degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline and appropriate industry experience in positions that complement and enhance the requirements of this position (preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical/CRO industry)
- Proven ability working within a business development team within a CRO or associated clinical trials industry environment including experience in client meetings, cost and proposal development, project award and contract management
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior management and other stakeholders
- Excellent written communications skills including the ability to write SOPs and reports
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, analyse problems, formulate clear and effective solutions and coordinate tasks
- Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to take initiative in problem solving and in exercising judgment
- Ability to work harmoniously and cooperatively with other people and to work independently without supervision
