**The Role**
We are looking for a Junior Database Administrator to assist the team with database administrative support following the Standard operating procedures. The person will be responsible for build, installation, and configuration of SQL servers, create databases, maintain security, backup /restore, daily health checks, performance monitoring/troubleshooting, BAU and various projects related database releases.

You are expected to have good T-SQL, PowerShell scripting knowledge for carrying out various day to day administrative and reporting tasks.

You will work closely with multiple cross-functional teams to understand their requirements, optimise query performance, ensure data integrity and security, and provide valuable reports and visualisations.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide DBA support including:

- Setting up new SQL Server instances, upgrade/migrate databases following current procedure.
- Back-up and recovery of database
- Responding to incidents and troubleshooting issues
- Managing new users, granting necessary permission, and running established audit processes
- Provide support to stakeholders and ensure maximum uptime for the client.
- Ensure high levels of security on the database environment.
- Participate in departmental projects as required.
- Undertake diagnosis and problem resolution tasks in relation to DB outages.
- Participate in daily monitoring and health check tasks to ensure the availability of the db system.
- Develop clear technical documentation as required.
- Change/ incident/CMDB management.

**Qualifications and Education**
- Formal qualification in computer science, information systems, or equivalent work experience in relevant stream.
