**About the Role**:
Our client is a government agency seeking an experienced Database Administrator/Data Engineer with expertise in database administration, database development, data warehousing (DW) and business intelligence (BI) spaces to assist in the design, implementation, and support of data capabilities.

You'll work within a small delivery team in providing data services as well as in supporting the development and support of new business analytics services.

They will also engage with stakeholders and other members of the delivery team to develop work packages using an adapted scrum methodology.

**What your day will look like**:
Plan, develop, configure, maintain and support SQL Server database management systems in accordance with user requirements ensuring optimal database integrity, security, back up,reliability and performance.
Capacity planning, High availability, and monitoring of ARC’s SQL Server environment.
Provide advice to stakeholders on the design and implementation of new database tier services
Design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security,
Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow.

**Skills required**:

- Excellent SQL Server database Administration skills
- Demonstrated capability to scope, plan and execute projects/tasks - including managing, risks and issues, approvals, and the balancing of multiple competing priorities.
- Excellent MS SQL Server development skills (at least five years of Microsoft SQL Server development)
- Experience with the Business Intelligence development stack, especially SQL Server Integration Services, SQL
- Server Analysis Services and SQL server reporting services (SSRS).
- Expert level troubleshooting and optimisation skill

**Desirable**:

- A relevant degree and/or Microsoft database certifications
- Experience in querying XML and JSON data
- Experience working with source control, e.g., Subversion, TFS, VSS, Git etc.
- Experience on Agile and/or Scrum projects
- Experience using Visual Studio/SQL Server Data Tools
