About the Opportunity

Hatchit Studios is seeking an experienced
Database Administrator (DBA)
to support a large federal government client. This role will provide specialist development, technical services, and support across
Microsoft SQL database platforms
spanning on-premises and cloud environments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned DBA to contribute to a
cloud-first strategy
and application modernisation initiatives, while ensuring the security, availability, and performance of business-critical data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain
    MS SQL Server
    database instances with high availability.
  • Monitor and optimise performance, replication, and resolve bottlenecks using tuning and monitoring tools.
  • Develop and manage
    clustering, backups, and disaster recovery strategies
    .
  • Manage
    security configurations
    including certificate management and access control.
  • Administer and optimise
    SSAS/SSIS/SSRS and Power BI
    reporting environments.
  • Troubleshoot issues across
    hybrid and cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
    .
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for all configurations, changes, and procedures.

Skills & Experience Required

  • 7+ years
    experience in a similar Database Administration role.
  • Hands-on with
    Microsoft SQL Server
    , Always-On Availability Groups, and
    Azure SQL Databases
    .
  • Strong expertise in
    SQL/T-SQL and PowerShell
    scripting for automation.
  • Proven
    problem-solving skills
    and proactive database management approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to work effectively in collaborative teams.
  • Current active NV2 security clearance
    (essential).

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with
    Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD
    practices.
  • SQL Database development experience.
