Our client is looking for a SQL Database Administrator. This is a permanent employment opportunity.

**Role responsibilities and duties**:
Database Design and Implementation:

- Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.
- Create and modify database schema, tables, views, and stored procedures.
- Optimise database performance and ensure data integrity

Database Maintenance and Administration:

- Install,configure, and upgrade SQL server software and related products.
- Monitor and tune database performance, ensuring optimal response times.
- Perform regular backups, recovery, and maintenance tasks to minimise downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems.
- Implement and maintain database security, including user access control and data encryption.

Database Security and Compliance:

- Develop and enforce database security policies and procedures.
- Monitor database activity and access logs for potential security threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and industry best practices.

Database Monitoring and Optimisation:

- Monitor database systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Optimise database queries, indexes, and server configurations to enhance overall system performance.
- Implement database monitoring tools and establish alerts for proactive issue identification and resolution.

Documentation and Reporting:

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate regular reports on database performance, usage, and capacity.
- Provide recommendations for database infrastructure improvements based on analysis and findings.
