**The Role**
The Maritime Cross Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO) is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated EL1 Commercial Manager to lead our Commercial Team. The position requires excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, governance, strategic procurement and contract management skills.

As the Commercial Manager, you will be adept at managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including our Industry partners. You will balance a complex relationship of commercial, capability and governance demands in support of MCPSPO product schedule delivery.

Specific duties will include:

- Delivery of ongoing commercial support to MCPSPO staff in the development and delivery of commercial arrangements and projects.
- Preparation of written documentation, including senior management briefing packs and reports and complex procurement documentation.
- Elevating commercial acumen across multi-faceted teams
- Management of the MCPSPO’s Commercial Governance and Assurance outcomes including internal training program.
- Prioritisation and management of commercial resources to meet operational capability requirements across the SPO.
- Contribution to MCPSPO commercial strategic planning.
- Fostering of collaborative enterprise stakeholder relationships.

You will lead a team of staff to achieve these outcomes. Collaboratively managing and resolving contract risks and issues as well as identifying opportunities and bringing together Defence and Industry partners in the focus of capability requirements is integral to the role.

You will possess a high level of commercial knowledge and experience, with a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement to deliver outcomes in a complex and technical environment.

This position offers an additional payment of 10% on top of the referenced salary range. The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. The Maritime Cross Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO) within Maritime Systems Division, is the lead agency for delivery of cross-Class sustainment services and advice across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, domestic and off-shore. Our operating environment is complex and challenging, and requires exceptional contract and relationship management skills.
