**About the role**
At Pacific National, we prioritise safety above all else, to ensure that our people go Home Safely Every Day. We are seeking an Injury Management Advisor to continue driving and developing Pacific National’s injury management strategy and support the implementation of strategic health and wellbeing initiatives. The Injury Management Advisor will also be responsible for facilitating associated processes ensuring that State Workers compensation and Comcare self-insurance license requirements are met. Reporting to the Health, Medical and Workers Compensation Manager, this role can be based in a range of locations including Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Newcastle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement the Pacific National injury management, rehabilitation and return to work processes in conformance with the relevant jurisdictional and licence requirements
- Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders in the pursuit of effective, timely and sustainable return to work outcomes for injured workers
- Provide coaching, training and support to internal stakeholders to improve return to work outcomes
- Build injury management capability across the operations group broadly to improve the return to work experience of injured workers
- Identify injury prevention opportunities, develop targeted interventions and implementation plans
- Identify and advocate for RMS and RTW improvement opportunities
- Maintain relevant data and information to support return to work, workers compensation claims and legal obligations
- Provide SME advice to the Workers Compensation Principal on case matters to inform case strategy
- Actively participate in reviewing and monitoring ongoing workers compensation case activities, ensuring alignment with return to work goals
- Maintain relevant data and investigation information to support workers compensation claims and legal requirements
- Maintain integrity and excellence in the implementation of pre-employment and periodical health assessments
- Support the health services team to meet the requirements of the National Standard for Assessment of Rail Safety Workers
- Develop and implement proactive health and wellbeing initiatives in conjunction with the health services team
- Support the implementation of contracts e.g. on-site physio, medical services, WorkCover QLD.
**About you**
- Tertiary qualification in Allied health, e.g., Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Exercise Physiology desired but not essential
- Experience in injury management working within the Comcare jurisdiction preferred
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships and communicate with a diverse range of people internally and externally
- Demonstrable attention to detail
