We now have an exciting opportunity for a GM, Innovation to join our Technology, Data & Optimisation team based in Melbourne.

About the opportunity

As the GM, Innovation, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation initiatives and new ideas within our business. Your initial focus will be on innovative business optimisation and improvement opportunities, and later on, you will identify and frame strategic growth priorities through new ventures and investments. Your role will be crucial in improving customer experience, driving commercial outcomes, and facilitating the adoption of net-zero transitioning and circular economy practices. You will have a direct impact on the organisation by fostering a culture of creativity, idea experimentation, and collaboration.

**Other tasks will include**:

- Lead discussions across the business to identify, assess, and prioritise new ideas based on their commercial desirability, viability, feasibility, and relevance to current and future business needs.
- Drive the delivery of strategic innovation initiatives from concept to proof of concept, ensuring successful handover to pilot and scale for return on investment.
- Foster a culture of innovation and progressive thinking within the organisation through activities like hackathons, design thinking workshops, and showcases.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with 3rd parties (e.g., universities, start-ups, VC's) to leverage global practices, technologies, and trends, collaborating to build and test new ideas.

About you

To excel in this role, we're looking for someone with a passion for innovation and a track record of driving tangible business outcomes.

You have demonstrated experience working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to establish an innovation agenda and open innovation ecosystem. Your expertise lies in identifying, shaping, testing, and building new ideas and ventures that drive meaningful impact.

**Ideally you will have the following**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Commerce, Innovation, or related field with a strong background in business and product development, innovation and strategic planning
- Ability to influence and represent a culture of progressive and disruptive thinking.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
- Highly advanced written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
