**Overview of Position**
Advanced Navigation has beautiful offices and high tech research and production facilities across NSW, including in Sydney, Botany, Newcastle, Canberra and Brisbane.
Key opportunities will include maintaining and upgrading our offices and facilities, working with external contractors where required, to implement suitable, cost effective solutions.
From time to time more complex building works management and relocation management will be required.
**Role Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and update Advanced Navigation facilities, including offices, Manufacturing facilities and research facilities in Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle and Brisbane, ensuring facilities are suitable to support the Advanced Navigation team. This will require travel to our facilities, including, Botany, Newcastle, Canberra and Brisbane facilities
- Project Manage a pipeline of Facilities Projects including commissioning new facilities or rooms in new facilities, upgrades to facilities, new meeting rooms, repairs, furniture relocation, furniture repairs etc.
- Where practical, plan and complete trade works to a high quality standard including electrical, carpentry and plumbing works and material sourcing
- When required, source and manage contractors to complete trade works to a high quality standard
- Engage cross functionally to understand and deliver on the Advanced Navigation Team’s requirements, including ongoing facility maintenance and upgrades
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders, such as Building Management, Council etc and organise approvals where relevant
- Maintain ‘Building Works’ database, a record of proposed works, risks and risk mitigation, proposed costs, 3rd party suppliers and contractors, approvals and plans
- Regularly audit Advanced Navigation facilities to identify required maintenance
- Manage a pipeline of work, including work plans, material sourcing, approvals
- Communicate effectively and frequently to ensure pipeline of works, including schedule and cost, is well understood by Advanced Navigation management
- Complete regular planned versus actual reporting to support decision making and continuous improvement
- Engage with Advanced Navigation People & Culture team to support WHS related requirements, including risk mitigation and management
- Ensure all work is completed inline with Advanced Navigation WHS policies and procedures
- Build and maintain relationships with external contractors, suppliers, building managers and local authorities
**Skills & Experience**:
- 3+ years in a similar role, concurrently managing maintenance and upgrade to two or more facilities
- 2+ years implementing small to medium building maintenance projects, including carpentry, electrical and or plumbing works
- Experience managing trade contractors and material suppliers, including quality assurance management
- Demonstrated track record in supporting fit out, refurbishment and relocation projects
- Proven track record managing conflicting priorities, multitasking and meeting deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to communicate at all levels and build effective and professional relationships
- Ability to understand basic financials including cost management and budget
- Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
- Trades including electrical, carpentry and or plumbing are a plus
- Awareness of legislation relevant to the position, including WHS and Security
