Procurement Specialist role in New Program Roll Out | CBD Based | Hybrid Working
**Your New Organisation**
This WA State Government Department is currently in the process of rolling out a large IT project involving both system and policy and procedure upgrades. The program team are currently seeking an experienced and adaptable procurement professional to join them on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. The position will focus on a number of contract renewals and new tenders, as well as existing vendor contract management.
**Your New Role**
As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our IT projects. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to source, negotiate, and manage the procurement of IT services.
Responsibilities will include:
- Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate potential vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Sourcing and Procurement: Source IT software and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with policy and legal requirements.
- Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and optimise procurement processes.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the program team, internal departments and suppliers.
**What you’ll need to succeed**
- Extensive prior experience in procurement and contract management (preferably within an IT context).
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Prior experience in Government Procurement or knowledge of WA buying rules will be highly regarded.
