Join Leidos Australia and lead a complex and multifaceted Mission System Program with an ADF customer. In this role you will lead a program team of 50 encompassing the Program Office, System and Software Engineering, System Administration, Testing and Service Desk.

Due to a recent transition on the customer side, there is an opportunity to establish new relationships and to set new program rhythms and practices.

The Information Technology Services Division is seeking an experienced, high energy IT Program Manager for our Project Services team. The role will report to the Project Services Director supported by the core project delivery management team. This position will be responsible for facilitating the management and framework used to deliver project into Defence; evaluating risk; prioritising; and on boarding new technology which aligns with Defence Long Range IT Plan.

A key goal when working with representatives from across the organisation will be to develop rapport and trust with your peers and stakeholders in all teams.

**Opportunities to deliver impact in this role include**:

- Program leadership for a complex defence mission system including customer relationship management, scope, schedule, budget and quality accountability;
- Re-energising a well established program team toward the next phase of the program life-cycle and empowering high performance;
- Establishing relationships with a Service Delivery Managers in the BAU Team to ensure requirements and expectations are met to transition projects into operational support;
- Help define and implement portfolio management (IT Project Governance) policies and processes to support fact-based decisions on investments into Information Technology projects;
- Continuously improve the IT governance and planning capability for the CP Contract by integrating optimal ways of planning and organising, acquiring and implementing, delivering and supporting, and monitoring IT (solutions) performance;
- Build trusted and effective relationships working with project managers to ensure they deliver on-time, on-budget, on benefits and on-quality (and intervening to resolve issues as required);
- Participate in discussions and activities regarding IT project funding, resourcing and prioritisation to meet expected business outcomes for all programs and projects;
- Monitor the portfolio of projects in relation to Scope, Schedule and Budget with a focus on early warning signs and appropriate mitigation actions to address and instil this same attitude into Project Services PMs;
- Actively participate and support regular One on One meetings with your manager and direct reports to foster trust and build a high performing team;
- Actively participate in verifying Effort Estimate Guidelines used on project estimates;
- Understand, evaluate and manage risks to the portfolio;
- Assist customers in defining business requirements when required;
- Chair internal Project Management meetings to celebrate the positive outcomes, deliver guidance and provide continuous improvement initiatives from lessons learnt;
- Ensure IT process is followed in accordance with the contract;
- Participate in organisation strategy sessions to meet company objectives;

**Qualifications**:

- University or college degree
- 10 + years of experience in project coordination, management and/or project delivery accountability
- PMP Certification or equivalent experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Excellent soft-skills greatly preferred, e.g. adaptability, emotional intelligence, perseverance, active listening
- Mindfulness Effective negotiating, consulting & coaching skills
- 3 - 5 years of experience in enterprise program analysis
- 4 + years of IT Governance/Portfolio Management experience
- Prior experience leading diverse and collaborative relationships across multiple teams
- Must demonstrate strong analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills
- Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner
- Ability to use discretion when handling confidential information
- Experience in a public sector agency
- PMP Certification
- Proven technical project management experience
- NV1 clearance is required in this role with Australian citizenship
- Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint and Project
- Knowledge of Cloud technologies
