The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring timely and effective implementation of all company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products.
Maintaining close working relationships with other department managers and supervisory personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements.
QA supervisor provides QA team members with guidance and leadership in relationship to good manufacturing practices, good laboratory practices, good documentation practices, maintaining SQF program, HACCP and site QMS systems in an audit prepared state, 5S and continuous improvement, and ownership over Quality deadlines.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Supervise and direct quality assurance technicians/auditors who are responsible for enforcing Good Manufacturing Practices and other quality-related policies in order to meet product quality standards
- Provide coaching and leadership to direct reports to ensure they are developing and have clear growth pathways for their career development
- Audit quality control of raw materials, packaging components, labels, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and regulatory standards
- Ensure Quality systems are compliant with the site procedures, industry regulated standards and accredited programs (SQF and customer standards)
- Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support
- Assist in investigating and correcting quality-related issues (including customer complaints) through collaboration with other departments
- Coordinate training of your team to ensure a correct balance of skills is maintained and any future needs met by having clear succession plans in place
- Coordinate and maintain Master Control Documents, quality data collection, charting, trending, and reporting projects
- Assures efficient and accurate testing, reporting, and monitoring of product safety and quality.
- Coordinates, plans and monitors the site Hygiene Program ensuring ATP programs & Environmental Monitoring is conducted to highest hygiene standards.
**About you**:
- Tertiary qualification in food science / related agricultural science or relevant industry experience and training (ie HACCP)
- Proven skills in team leadership and developing individuals to achieve their full potential
- Experience in various systems and standards such as HACCP, BRC, SQF as well as Quality Documentation
- Experience in internal auditing and GMP practices
- Ideally you would have pet food/meat industry or high-risk food manufacturing experience
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer competency in Microsoft Office programs
- A curious nature with high decision quality and ability to stand alone
- Able to analyse data and provide actionable insights
- Driven to make a difference through influencing others
