**About the role**

The IT Service Cost & Recovery Analyst coordinates cost recovery activities within the GovConnect shared corporate services business units based on the services consumed to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of financial management aligned to organisational objectives.

***Key Accountabilities include**:

- Monitors and maintains all required financial records for compliance and audit to all agreed service billing requirements to improve the collection, reporting and utilisation of information to inform decision making.
- Assists business participating in the provision of GovConnect shared corporate services with financial management tasks, including the identification of process, service, project and component costs and the calculation and subsequent reduction of all service, project, component and process billing failures, to enhance business operations and performance.
- Contributes to financial planning and budgeting to ensure requirements and standards are met and best practice techniques are used.
- Collates and analyses financial data and provide quality reports to facilitate decision making.
- Develop financial plans and forecasts to enable effective financial management and ensure the true cost of services are recovered.
- Monitors and manages GovConnect shared corporate services cost recovery, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examining any areas where expenditure and recovery do not meet their agreed tolerances to achieve compliance and consistent outcomes.

***Key Challenges**:

- Achieving multiple simultaneous service design and mapping requests, given limited resources and tight deadlines, and the need to identify interdependencies and balance competing demands and priorities.
- Balancing competing customer, business and technical demands to ensure agreed deliverables are achieved on time and to expected standards.
- Understanding and managing a diverse and complex range of client queries and escalations to provide them with specific billing data, and provider run costs for charge back and financial transparency.

***To be the successful in this role you will demonstrate**:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably within the IT sector.
- Strong understanding of financial planning processes, budgeting, and cost management.
- Experience in developing and implementing financial strategies and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Advanced level MS Excel and Power BI skills.
