Finance Business Partner

Are you a strategic finance professional seeking a new challenge? Do you have experience in cost management and analysis, inventory control, budgeting, and financial modeling?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our high-performing finance team as a Finance Business Partner. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial support to the business, including cost management, inventory control, and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Management and Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain standard costs of products and services, review production accounting results and production variances, and report variances in accordance with company policies and procedures;
    • Analyse actual manufacturing/service costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production/service costs;
    • Provide analysis on cost of product quality and assess warranty provisions;
    • Support new product introduction by providing product/project costing analysis and estimates;
    • Identify causes and opportunities for cost savings; and
    • Assist with various ad-hoc analysis requests from the Operations team.
  • Inventory Control:
    • Ensure inventory records are complete and accurate;
    • Monitor cycle count programs outcomes (and conduct physical inventories where required) and review stock take results and adjustments;
    • Maintain the cost accounting and inventory modules and the relevant cost and inventory controls in the ERP system.
  • Budget and Monthly Management Reporting:
    • Complete month-end tasks including preparation of all inventory, warranty, and service-related GL reconciliations;
    • Presentation to various working groups including supply chain and procurement;
    • Work closely with the FP&A team in cost control activities and monitoring of actual performance against budget/forecast;
    • Assist with half-year and year-end reporting requirements and other ad-hoc reporting requests;
    • Support external audit and review process.
  • Cost Systems, Data, and Process Management:
    • Maintain the cost accounting and inventory modules and the relevant cost and inventory controls in the ERP system;
    • Maintain the integrity of standard costs and price list master data, and product line data in the ERP system;
    • Maintain the standard cost accounting policy and ensure its continuing relevance and currency to the growing requirements of the business.
    Requirements and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in accounting or a related field;
  • At least 2-5 years' experience in a finance business partner, cost accountant, management accountant, commercial analyst, or similar commercial finance role;
  • Knowledge of cost accounting with strong analytical, variance reporting, and cost modelling skills;
  • Strong commercial finance acumen with a proven track record of actively driving commercial agendas across the business;
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities;
  • Superior stakeholder management, including advanced influencing and negotiation skills;
  • High energy levels and a 'hands-on', can-do attitude;
  • Pro-active and customer-focused mindset.
