With the expansion of mental health services into Western Health from NWMS transition, as well as the Dame Phyliss Frost Correctional Facility an opportunity exists for an a suitably experienced and highly motivated **Clinical Nurse Consultant** to join the Infection Prevention team at Western Health.
This role requires post graduate qualifications in infection prevention and surveillance or working towards. Responsible for implementing, consulting, monitoring and evaluating the Infection Prevention Standards across Western Health Programs and Campuses whilst acting as a key Infection Prevention contact under the direction of the Infection Prevention Operations Manager. Additionally, the person must have
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- Experience and good working knowledge of Infection Prevention Strategies within acute, sub-acute and aged care settings, with mental health experience highly regarded
- Experience and good working knowledge of Standard 3: Preventing and Controlling Infections and accreditation processes
- Proven ability to adjust to dynamic and changing environment
- Extensive experience working in clinical settings
- Intermediate to advanced IT skills across Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, patient management systems and MS Teams with excellent report writing skills and experience with VICNISS data submission
- Experience in facilitating, planning, implementing, delivering, and evaluating education / training sessions on IPC and healthcare associated infection prevention across varied settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work within and support a multidisciplinary team, have highly developed communication skills, problem solving, interpersonal together with strong clinical leadership skills.
