**Position Information**:
Gymea Bay Public School is a co-educational public school in the Sutherland Shire, on the lands of the Gweagal Clan of the Dharawal people. With a student enrolments of approximately 800, Gymea Bay Public School provides a broad curriculum including outstanding sport, technology and music programs. School planning is focused on student attainment and achievement through data use to support differentiated and effective teaching and learning. Student learning and wellbeing is supported through the authentic collaboration between students, teachers and parent/carers.

The school has a strong connection to the local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and an energetic Parents and Citizens Association. A networked vision team operates from the school site serving schools throughout Southern Sydney.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, demonstrated effective and collaborative leadership with the ability to authentically engage, build and nurture strong connections with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

Demonstrated ability to effectively articulate and lead a clear aspirational vision and strategic directions in collaboration with all stakeholders.

Demonstrated evidence-informed decision making that reflects knowledge of current educational research and practice to drive growth and achievement in teacher and student learning.

Demonstrable practices that build the capacity of other school leaders and connects to networks of schools within the broader public education system.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
